This guy needs a more ambitious lawyer

Apparently a Lebanese-German man is suing the CIA for inflicting upon him "prolonged arbitrary detention, torture and other cruel, inhuman, or degrading treatment". He's seeking damages of......"at least" $75,000.

So pleased that the AMERICAN CLU decides to sue the AMERICAN CIA on behalf of a Lebanese-born German. Is there no such thing as a GCLU?

Scott, BTW, let not the dollar value of the lawsuit fool you. If the custom is like med-mal suits, that number will become greatly inflated. A recent suit here in the U.S. had initial documents with three or four charges seeking "damages of at least $25,000" each. When the case finally went to the jury, the plaintiff's attorney asked that they return a guilty verdict with $500,000 in damages. (the defendant was victorious)
